Integrating Repository Function with Work Practice

Scenario capture activity

Posted by Janet Finlay on June 7, 2007

We had an initial user group meeting today (another scheduled for Monday) where I asked the podcasting pilot volunteers to produce scenarios for how they envisage creating a podcast resource. I have some text descriptions, some video, some audio and will be processing them once I have the set from Monday. These will help us map out the domain and the likely workflow associated with podcasts – focusing specifically on those intended to persist and therefore potentially reusable. Many of these will I think be produced as video objects so we will need to look at the metadata capture process and tools that might support that. I have added Ben’s comment from the Emerge community here as it relates to the proposed testbed repository. If the podcasts are to be stored as objects in this repository then we need to identify the necessary “packaging” required (e.g. metadata but also accompanying materials such as scripts).
